Secrets of Prayer

Prayer is an act of communication between a person and God; it is talking to God heart to heart. It is through prayer that man opens the door to let God move and take control of your life. Prayer is also an act of worship to God. The most important purpose of prayer is to adore Him in his unbounded greatness and thank Him for the graces he bestowed upon you. The most usual intention why you pray is to ask for something you desire or need; another is to beg for forgiveness for the sins you committed. Prayer is a powerful tool that could lead to the transformation of ones life to a more useful one.

There are a lot of blessings that you can acquire through prayer not only for your own sake but also for your loved ones and the people whom you prayed for. It is stated in the Bible that prayer brings healing, forgiveness, wisdom, courage, direction, salvation, and even develop your relationship with God. The story of a woman who had completely surpassed her social, family and personal life problems and the story of two missionaries who were saved from the attack of cobra are some of the cases that prayer really has power.

Prayer is not just an ordinary act; it proves that the things that seem impossible happen; the things that people think you cannot achieve, you attain. It only depends on how you believe in the power of prayer.

It does not mean that all you ask for will be granted. God has a purpose why he gives these kinds of responses. You must know how to do your part. God is merciful but the outcome depends on how you work for what you asked, how you exert effort, or how you aspire for something.

Through prayers, God hears more than you say, He answers more than you ask, He gives more than you desire. All He needs is your heart and time. Do not lose hope, have faith and work for it. Give your best in everything you do. God is always willing to listen and to help you. Claim the blessings of prayer; believe that there is power, for with God, all things are possible!

If I Was There

Watch this..it's so nice...nakakaiyak...

IF I WAS THERE

I close my eyes and think about Calvary

I see it happening right in front of me
the back that bore the whip, the head that held the crown of thorns
what if I was there
would I even care, would I even care
or would I only stare

What if I was there just a face in the crowd
would I hide in shame or would I laugh out loud
would I pity Him or think that He is just a fool
another criminal
or just the truth, or just the truth
He is heaven’s jewel

As He marched up that hill
I can picture Him still in my mind
all the blood and the sweat on His brow
as He passed me on by, I could see in His eyes
that His pain was a gift of His love

He was the sacrifice-the Lamb
and He is the great I AM
and He paid the price for me
the price for you and me-you and me

He made the deaf to hear again
He called the sinful man a friend
He walked that hill for me
so my blind soul could see-could see

As He marched up that hill
I can picture Him still in my mind
all the blood and the sweat on His brow
as He passed me on by, I could see in His eyes
that His pain was a gift of His love

I close my eyes and think about Calvary
I see it happening right in front of me
two criminals were there-with one on either side of Him
one hurled insults and one believed-and one believed
which one am I?

Can you find twenty books of the Bible in this paragraph?

Someone showed me this story and remarked that there are twenty books of the Bible hidden here. He challenged me to find them. Sure enough, they're here. Still, these things a "lulu" kept me looking so hard for the longest time! Some of you will get bugged down with facts, others are hit by them like they are some kind of revelation or something! You may get in a jam, especially since the names are not capitalized and often leap the spaces between words. This makes a real job to find them but it'll provide the most fascinating few minutes for you. Yes, there are some really easy ones to spot, but don't get the big head, cause truthfully, you'll soon figure that it would take most federal judges, and preachers numbers of hours to find them all. I will admit that it usually takes a minister to find one of them, and that is not uncommon, for there are to be loud lamentations when it is pointed out. One lady says that when she is confronted with puzzles like this, she brews a cup of tea to help her concentrate better. But then this gal's a real pro! (Verbs, nouns, and all that stuff are her thing.) See how well you can compete. Relax! There really are twenty names of Bible books in this story. If you fail to find them there's a penalty! You'll have to go fly a kite, seat on a banana, hum the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," or hose a dog (a mean one). Get to it.

What Prayer Means

Prayer is a six letter word with a very powerful meaning. It is an act where a person can communicate with God. Through prayer, you can talk with Him and let Him know what is inside your heart. It also develops your relationship with God. Prayer is “an active effort to communicate with deity or spirit either to offer praise, to make a request, confess sins, or simply to express one’s thoughts and emotions.”(Available Online: http://www.en.wikipedia.org) In other words, prayer is a connection between the Creator which is God and his creation specifically us, human beings. Prayer has power that could transform the life of everybody.

When performing prayer, it shows that there’s a desire to be in contact with God. We are letting Him come into our hearts. “It is not our prayer that moves Jesus, it is Jesus who moves us to pray… Before we call, He graciously makes known to us what gift He has decided to impart to us. He knocks in order to move us by prayer to open the door and accept the gift which He has already appointed for us. (Isaiah 65:24, KJV)… God says, ‘If any man open the door, I will come into him.’ ’’ (World Network of Prayers- Abiding In Him, 13) Our Creator just needs a way in or an access to our lives. If we just let Him come in He is willing to enter in.

Also from the World Network of Prayers – Abiding in Him book gives some deeper insights on the secret of prayer and these are: A.) Prayer is something deeper than words. It is present in the soul before it has been formulated in words. And it abides in the soul after the last words of prayer have passed over our lips. B.) Prayer is an attitude of our hearts and mind. Prayer is a definite attitude of our hearts toward God, an attitude which He in heaven immediately recognizes as prayer, as an appeal to His heart.

What Will Prayer Do

How Prayer Transforms Lives (story)

One of the patients of Dr. Lena Sadler had problems with her mental life. Dr. Lena, a psychiatrist, had asked her husband, Dr. William Sadler, also a psychiatrist to see that it will take a year or more for the woman to set her mental life in order and numerous psychic slivers were removed.

A few days later, the patient walk into the office of Dr. William and informed him that all her troubles were all over, the things that she cannot do had been done. This patient had completely surpassed her social, family and personal life problems. Dr. William asked her how she did that. And the patient replied that Doctor Lena taught her to pray.

The power of prayer knows no boundaries. It moves and it works wherever you are. Many incidents have proven this; one of them was the story of the two missionaries.

Two married missionaries were sleeping in a little hut in Africa. The wife awoke suddenly. She was very nervous and had a feeling that they were in danger so she awoke her husband and they talked in whisper.

Beside their bed, they saw a giant cobra, whose head was raised and ready to bite. The husband quickly gets the rifle and shot the cobra in its head.

During that time, a friend of the missionaries had a feeling that they were in great danger, so she began to pray for them.

“Later, when the missionaries told her of their frightful experience, she compared the date and time of the experiences. The peril of the missionaries and the burden to pray for them corresponded to the minute!”

Another story that proved that there is healing in the name of Jesus was the story of Robbie.

“In August of 2002, Robbie visited her 80-year-old aunt Laurine in Cleveland, Ohio. Her daughter Sophia accompanied her on the trip. It was to be a visit to be remembered on which God would show them His power by using a unique miracle to bring about Laurine's salvation.’

“Four months before their visit, Laurine had two strokes and was unable to speak. While visiting, Robbie and Sophia prayed for Laurine's healing. Afterwards, Sophia stepped out onto the porch while Robbie stayed by her aunt's side coaching her along in an effort to help her say ‘Jesus.’ After a few minutes, Robbie called her daughter back inside to help her.’

“Sophia began to pray for Laurine, asking the Lord to release her tongue to speak. Robbie states, ‘We were overjoyed when the Lord loosened her tongue!’ Sophia led Laurine in the sinner's prayer: ‘Father, in the name of Jesus, come into my heart, forgive me of my sins, cleanse me with your blood.’ Laurine repeated every word!’

“Robbie says that as far as she is aware, this is the last time that Laurine has spoken. It was truly a miracle of loosening her tongue to free her spirit. But that's not all. One of Laurine's daughters was present at the time and heard her mother pray the sinner's prayer. Robbie says, ‘It really made a believer out of her.’ Praise the Lord!”
