Secrets of Prayer

Prayer is an act of communication between a person and God; it is talking to God heart to heart. It is through prayer that man opens the door to let God move and take control of your life. Prayer is also an act of worship to God. The most important purpose of prayer is to adore Him in his unbounded greatness and thank Him for the graces he bestowed upon you. The most usual intention why you pray is to ask for something you desire or need; another is to beg for forgiveness for the sins you committed. Prayer is a powerful tool that could lead to the transformation of ones life to a more useful one.

There are a lot of blessings that you can acquire through prayer not only for your own sake but also for your loved ones and the people whom you prayed for. It is stated in the Bible that prayer brings healing, forgiveness, wisdom, courage, direction, salvation, and even develop your relationship with God. The story of a woman who had completely surpassed her social, family and personal life problems and the story of two missionaries who were saved from the attack of cobra are some of the cases that prayer really has power.

Prayer is not just an ordinary act; it proves that the things that seem impossible happen; the things that people think you cannot achieve, you attain. It only depends on how you believe in the power of prayer.

It does not mean that all you ask for will be granted. God has a purpose why he gives these kinds of responses. You must know how to do your part. God is merciful but the outcome depends on how you work for what you asked, how you exert effort, or how you aspire for something.

Through prayers, God hears more than you say, He answers more than you ask, He gives more than you desire. All He needs is your heart and time. Do not lose hope, have faith and work for it. Give your best in everything you do. God is always willing to listen and to help you. Claim the blessings of prayer; believe that there is power, for with God, all things are possible!

its good taht uve thought about this dave..with the kind of life we have in the university where we are expected to be "critical" and rational, we cant deny the fact that at some point our faith has been put to test...unless we know deep in our hearts that GOD is beyond reason...then we can never keep that FAITH burning...

so, i guess this is a good way to remind all Christians to live in HIS way...

two thumbs up!

Prayer is the means by which Christians communicate with their God. The New Testament records that Jesus taught his disciples how to pray and that he encouraged them to address God as Father. Christians believe that they continue this tradition. Sometimes the prayers are formal and part of a ritual laid down for hundreds of years. Others are personal and spontaneous, and come from personal or group need.

Whilst prayer is often directed to God as Father, as taught by Jesus, some traditions encourage prayer to God through intermediaries such as saints and martyrs. Prayers through Mary, as the mother of God are central to some churches and form a traditional part of their worship.

Power Of Prayer - How powerful is it?
The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16-18 declares, "…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops." God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers, and moves in response to prayers.

Jesus taught, "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." The Bible urges us, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).
